Where the click of a button brings you up to speed with all the actual and relevant information you would want to know about life
Crisis times: the silent killer or the golden opportunity for each and
everyone of us to discover our real inner strength and to reach our full
potential?
Nowadays, if we take a glimpse at our “not so normal lives”, we are frequently bombarded with news and updates of different crisis times all of which have some degree of devastating effect on the world and our human society whether it be emotionally, financially, etc. The newest addition now being the COVID-19 pandemic which have adversely influenced our lives and emotions to such an extent that we have become severely ‘contagious’, perhaps even more so than the virus itself.
According to research about people’s reaction and behaviour in crisis
times, and especially so in the last couple of weeks, we are all prone to feel
anxious, intense fear, overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated and maybe even
dismayed. Some of us might experience
these feelings so intense that it distort our perceptions of reality. The question now is: how do we deal with the
crisis on the one hand and our emotions and fear on the other?
By nature we are all social human beings that need to frequently
interact and communicate to one another to share our emotions, blow off steam
and keep our perspectives real. The purpose of Insider Blog is to create a
space where we can share our experiences, advise, hope, inspiration and ideas
to support each during any time of crisis.
Our aim is to create an interactive platform where we, as community, can
stand together by helping each other to focus our attention and energy to think
clearly and creatively, manage our relationships effectively and looking after
our physical and mental health.
Now
is the time for all of us to abort negative emotions and attend to the right
priorities by making smart and informed choices. Together we should aim to stop catastrophizing
about what we can’t change and deliberately choose to focus on what we have the
power to influence and to let go of the rest.
I hope that you will reach out in support of our community by reading
and participating on the blog as I leave you now with the words of Jawaharlal
Nehru: “Crises and deadlocks when they occur have at least this advantage, that
they force us to think.”
